We spent our first day in Malaysia. The weather was very warm, but we were able to be active for a part of the day. Luckily, almost everywhere is air-conditioned. We visited Nilia College near Waihon's house and are able to use the internet there. I was also able to take part in the international prayer meeting with students from a wide range of countries and play tennis with the college tennis team. We spent some time with the children relaxing, shopping, and eating. They have a lot of different kinds of fruit such as starfruit, papaya, and durian (Patty has not wanted to try that yet after my stories). Durian is called the king of the fruits, I am not sure why but it sure does have a super strong smell--You can smell it from blocks away. Its taste is unlike anything else imaginable--you can continue to taste it for a day--whatever you do the smell of durian follows you, it is truly the fruit that keeps on giving.
At night, we went to an English class Ruth uses as an outreach to international students and we worked on tongue-twisters and talked about life as a student. It was really fun.
Today we are going to visit the orphanage and also meet some friends Frankie and Juliet Yap. I stayed with this family last time I journeyed to Malaysia. We are very excited to see their three children and to hear about how God has been working in their lives.
We thank you for the prayers!! Pray for our health in the heat and humidity. Also pray for our VBS which we will be starting next week at the orphanage. We pray that God is blessing your lives abundantly.
This photo is of Dan and Waihon and Ruth's three children: Elizabeth (oldest), Joseph (second), and Daniel (the baby).
